Baby Davis Update

Here are all three boys at six weeks old! From L to R- it's Davis, Hudson and Chase. I'm not sure where we got Hudson! Davis continues to remind us more and more of Chase as a baby.  These pictures don't show it very well, but his facial features look quite a lot like Chase's did as a baby. He also has a similar temperament- he's a little on the fussy side, but does just fine as long as he's being held all day long. We've finally mostly established that he will sleep in the rock-n-play at night, but for naps he still much prefers being held. Mostly he hangs out in the ergo, right on my chest, or as Hudson calls it "his happy place". He's super content there!

We had his 2 month check up! I was surprised to see he was 9 lbs 11 oz and 22 inches! I didn't think he'd grown that much! Then I was surprised to see that still only puts him in the 3rd percentile for weight, and the 9th percentile for height.  So he's just a tiny little thing! The doctor was impressed with how strong he is (he holds his head up so well!) and says he's healthy! We put him on Zantac in the last month for reflux, which has helped him be a much happier baby. He still spits up a LOT, but he's not nearly as fussy. Then we did shots- which area always so sad for me. He did great though- he cried really hard for about 30 seconds, and then once I started cuddling him he calmed down to a whimper for another 2 minutes and then was totally fine! His big brothers were so proud of him for being brave!

Davis is such a sweetie- and he's been so much fun! We all just adore him and we love having a baby in our home again! I'm pretty exhausted, but honestly just so happy he's here and part of us. After I finish feeding him in the middle of the night, I hold him for a few minutes afterwards and just snuggle up to him and breathe in his sweetness. I love it. Everything is quiet (which is so rare in our house during the day) and I get a few minutes to marvel at the miracle and sweetness of a newborn baby. I'm just so thankful for him! I have a tendency during pregnancy to worry about loving and enjoying the new baby- and then they come and I realize I obviously didn't have anything to worry about. Cuddling my babies (the big ones too) is just the best part of life right now!
