Embrace and Cherish

After a particularly frustrating and disappointing day yesterday, I was really looking forward to hearing the talks and words and wisdom from the brethern in General Conference today. I was especially touched by the words of Pres. Uchtdorf (I always feel like his message is meant right for me). He said something to the effect of "There is something in every day to embrace and cherish and be grateful for." So true. And this is mine:
This is Chase trying to put on his own shorts this morning-
over his pajama shorts, with both legs in one side. He was proud of himself.
He wanted to wear his Utah State shirt today, despite their loss
last night to the "tougies" (as Chase calls them)
And the little sweetheart was more than willing to be entertained by
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (or Mickey's house as Chase calls it) while I watched
conference on my laptop.
He's the sweetest little boy I know.
Even though somedays are hard, and somedays are really hard,
I wouldn't trade being his mom for anything.
No matter what else is going on in our lives,
Ben and I sure are grateful that we can call this little one ours.

  1. Haha, Ethan did the same thing with his pants today. I told him to put his shorts on. He came to me a minute later, very proud, saying "mama, shorts on!" He had both legs in one hole. Gotta love it. Cute boy. It's true... however hard it is, these boys are the best. Love being a mom!

  2. Ahh, I missed President Uchtdorf's talk while I was coaching soccer, but I recorded that session so I'll have to go back and watch it now. I'm glad you got some good spiritual nourishment this weekend; I seriously missed all of us being together!!
