Out of the Mouth of Lila

Sitting on my bed, watching Daniel Tiger, first thing in the morning:

Mommy! You make yours bed! You make yours bed mommy!

Me: Okay, I will.

Lila: Oh, thanks mom.

She was super mad one night at dinner and was devastated that Davis said the prayer on the food. After finally calming down a little I asked her to say the prayer. She declined. I asked who she wanted to say it. She looked around the table and then said with so much certainty “Huds.” Huds was not present.

She will frequently slam a door upstairs and then yell down the stairs to us: Be ky-et guys! My baby is sleeping!

I need to do my lips! (Repeated 20 times a day. Girl loves lipstick)

Comes to me, with a face covered in smashed lipstick and declared “the carpet is very messy mommy! You need to clean it!” Hmmmm…I wonder who made that mess! Spoiler alert- dawn dish soap and lots of scrubbing took it out.

Me: Lila, do you want to go swimming with Rosie?

Lila: Will Heidi be there?

I commented on her cute panda jammies one night and she said “daddy put them on. Daddy did it daddy-self”

She gets so mad at me in the mornings when I’m not ready for the day yet. I frequently get reprimanded to “go get dressed!” “You shower mommy!”. One morning she was screaming in her crib (unusual for her, she usually just climbs out when she wakes up). I quit mid-workout to go see what was up and when I came into her room she immediately yelled at me “No mommy! You get dressed! You get dressed NOW MOMMY!”
