Over Labor Day weekend we headed up to the mountains for a little nature walk. (Hiking as officially been rebranded as a "nature walk" or "nature experience" so as not to upset Lila) It was truly stunning up there!
Davis, at 7.5 years old, FINALLY lost his first tooth! He pulled out the 2nd one just a few days later. After waiting and waiting and watching all his friends lose teeth, he was completely delighted to finally have a GAP! (He even told people, "Check out this gap!")
Lila started preschool! She's going three mornings a week to Miss Cassi's preschool and she has loved it! For a little girl who is frequently nervous about leaving mommy, she's been a total champ and goes right in with no tears every day.
Came home from an evening out to find all three of them asleep in our bed like this.
Hudson ran for student council! And he made it! It's been a fun experience so far, and I love this poster he designed for his campaign!
Lost tooth #2! Tooth fairy was busy in September!
I got to do a little art project with Davis's class on day. We made these faces with crazy hair. I love how Davis's turned out!
Chase was so busy with football all month long! They work these boys so hard and he's loved it. He says even after hard practices he feels really energized and overall just happier- and more focused in school! He's made a bunch of friends and had lots of fun just being with the team. He's gotten lots of playing time, playing both O and D lines and got a few great tackles and even recovered a fumble! It was so fun to watch him play and just really thrive there!
Davis started soccer again! Between soccer and flag football- he was really busy! He has so much energy, so being so involved in sports is great for him.
Lila got to go to Rosie's princess party and it was basically the social event of the season! So magical!
Poor Lila spent a morning in the ER! She got a tummy bug that turned pretty nasty. It looked like she was throwing up blood so I ran her to the hospital and the InstaCare team immediately sent us down to the ER. A quick lab analysis revealed it wasn't actually blood in her vomit, but she was very dehydrated. A little zofran and some fluids and she was a new girl! Once she was feeling a little better, she was actually fascinated by all the medical equipment, especially her IV. She loved seeing how it worked and was very chatty with her nurses. I was so relieved that she was okay- it was a scary morning!
Basketball season hasn't started yet, but he loves to shoot hoops any chance he gets.
After a stressful few weeks, Ben and I were finally able to sneak away to do a session in our new Layton Temple! It was a really beautiful night and we are so thankful to have it so close!
Our little creative guy really wanted to build floating shelves for his room. He had the plan and creative direction figured out all on his own. Ben helped him sand and drill, I helped him paint and then they got them all hung up in his room where he's styled them. I love Hudson and his projects!
Just a very typical way Lila watches the iPad in the mornings.
I let Davis dress himself for picture day. I never buy the pics anyway, so I didn't really care what he wore. I loved this outfit he put together for himself and I love that this is how he'll appear in the yearbook (which I do buy!)
We had Rosie one morning so she came to pick up Lila from preschool with me. These girls were so cute showing off their matching backpacks.
We had so much sickness in September! I don't know if its' just the back to school germs that got us- but Lila, Davis and Chase (and mom) all took a turn with a nasty virus (Lila took two turns). It made me appreciate healthy days even more so.
We took a Saturday evening to go back to Snow Basin to see the leaves turning.
