This summer has continued to be one big party. I don't think the boys fully appreciate how lucky they are! It's been full of parties, BBQs, playdates, swimming every day and weekly Nana adventures! We went on another fun one this week. We rode Frontrunner to SLC to play at Discovery! The boys were more excited about the train than the museum (we do go there all the time, the train is quite the novelty). They had a great time on the train and loved the museum as always. We got to do a little science experiment class that Chase loved- Hudson mostly wanted to just pour stuff into other stuff and not listen to any directions. It was a really fun day!
Ben and I committed this year (as our new years resolution) to have more fun! It's kind of an awesome goal to set. Months ago Ben bought a introductory flight off of ksl deals for an awesome price, and we finally went this last week! They let Ben fly this tiny plane (with a real pilot sitting next to him). Ben got to do everything except land the plane and he had a blast. I was sitting in the back seat, and while it was kind of cool to be in the air, I got very motion sick! I should have anticipated that, especially since we went on a very windy day with very rough air. It was still fun though!
Friday night we got to have a fun little getaway to Park City! We love Park City, we spent our honeymoon there and just love any chance we get to go back, especially since this time it was on Polycom! The first 20 employees to meet a certain goal got to go, and the first few of those got suites with hot tubs on the balcony. Since Ben's their #1 performer (I forgot to blog about how after the first quarter of the year we got to go to a Jazz game and sit on the 6th row!) we've known for awhile that we'd get to go- it was so nice of them to plan this weekend right after our anniversary! We met up with everyone for a group dinner at a yummy Mexican restaurant right at the base of Park City Mountain and then they let us have the rest of the night to ourselves. It was amazing! The air up there is so fresh and crisp, the mountains are gorgeous, the architecture is beautiful and the whole place just oozes charm. We enjoyed our night away immensely, especially how carefree and easy it is to be without kids and just easily on a whim walk a mile to get ice cream! We spent an hour in the hot tub, just relaxing and talking and enjoying the amazing view. In the morning we went to a delicious cafe for breakfast and did a little shopping before heading home to our boys! It was so nice to get away for just one night and know that our boys were in great hands and didn't miss us one bit (they had a sleepover at Nana and Papas- although "sleep"over is a loose term).
