We had a really lovely Easter holiday this year! The boys were really sad that due to Coronavirus we couldn't gather with family, but we did our best to make it memorable and special just the way it was. We spent the week studying the life of the Savior during the last week of his life. We started this last year and it really made it so special and kept the holiday very focused on Christ.
That weekend though we took some time to do the fun stuff. We dyed eggs- Hudson wanted to try the whipped cream method, so we did and it was super fun! Really not very hard, I think we will do it again this way! And then Saturday night Ben and I put together a little egg hunt through our house for the boys to do. It was super cute and fun and I think the boys felt a lot better after that :)
Easter morning we tried to get a good family picture, and this was the best we could do. I will admit, I was pretty grumpy about it. I wanted a good family shot with Lila in it (something we didn't have yet) and was frustrated about the lack of cooperation from several members of my family!
This picture of my kids, while imperfect, is kind of great. I love Hudson's big open, toothless smile! I love how even though Lila had started crying, Chase is still just holding her like a champ. And Davis is just doing Davis!
Chase helped me make the bunny cake this year and did most of the decorating himself. Ben really wanted toasted coconut on the cake and I thought it made it look so weird and informed him in the future we will go back to regular coconut. The kids love this bunny cake tradition that we do every year, and even though it looked kind of weird it tasted amazing.
Our Easter feast was delicious- grilled chicken, salad, homemade rolls (from Nana), grilled pineapple and the cake. We even zoomed with Papa Ray and Grandma during dinner so it was kind of like we had dinner all together!
After dinner all the boys headed out for some high stakes laser tag! I love how serious Hudson is being in this picture. And how Davis just looks SO happy to be included in the fun!
Sweet little Lila baby- her first Easter! I think she slept through most of it, but I loved snuggling this sweet girl all day!
