We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary with a hike up in Mountain Green. It was very beautiful and we had a great time with our kids!
The 4th of July was eventful this year! The pump went out for the pool, so we came up with a plan B of yard games and a slip n slide in the front yard. Which was fun, until rain rolled in! The whole BBQ ended up being inside the house. It was a little chaotic but also a fun memory! The weather cleared in time for fireworks!
The kids got to tour the pioneer house at Heritage park when Nana took a shift working there. They were actually fascinated by the pioneer games and artifacts.
We had a lovely mountain getaway with our friends, the Ballards, who graciously invited us up to their family cabin. It was in the most beautiful area and we had a great weekend exploring on ATVs and then again on kayaks at the lake. We enjoyed hanging out at the cabin, playing games, and letting the kids pretend and enjoy each other. It was one of the highlights of the whole summer!
We settle into a pretty good routine in the summer. Once jobs and piano are done, the kids can play until about lunch time. Most days we come back home for lunch and then doing reading and "quiet time" which is mostly just screen time. I caught a few pictures of Davis and Chase reading together- Davis just loves to be close to people! And Chase is so sweet to indulge him on it.
We spent a lot of the summer trying to keep Pippin OUT of the pool, and either in or out of the pool, Davis spent as much time with her as possible.
Just some handsome boys!
Chase got to choose his jersey. He picked 58, just like his uncles wore. He came home from every practice completely exhausted and also so happy!
This was the night that we took the littles to ice cream and Davis ordered mudpie ice cream and we didn't realize until he finished it that it's espresso ice cream- so pretty caffienated- at like 7:30 pm! Parent fail.
Lila ended up with us at Station Park one morning and was fascinated by the fountains.
I took each kid back to school shopping on little dates- Lila was the only one very excited about it and posed in each outfit in the dressing room.
