May

May! May is the most beautiful month! Hudson got to be King for his medieval days celebration. He wore his King costume from the play and really relished in the role!

And then school ended! Chase finished up the 8th grade. He did awesome. He got a 4.0 all year, worked really hard in his classes, wrestled on the team and overall just really aced 8th grade. He had a really good history teacher, Mr. Lillywhite, that really made the year fun for him. He also started Spanish this year and learned so much! I didn't ever get a single photo, but he played baseball in the spring on a city rec team. His team was really adorable- they lost most games and still had the best time together! Lots of laughing and cheering from the dugout. It was just a cute group of buddies playing very low stakes baseball.

Hudson had 6th grade graduation. I teared up so many times during his graduation (for very valid reasons) and partly because I'm so proud of this kid! He did so well this year. He got awesome grades all year, got many awards at the State Robotics tournament, had a lead in the school play, made many good friends, looked out for his little brother, was a peer mentor at the school and was on student council. It was a big year and he was ready to say adios to Elementary school!

Davis finished up 2nd grade. He also had an awesome year. He got to go on some fun field trips, made new friends, weaseled his way into the school play again, wore a headband every day and got a special award for having completed the most Lexia lessons of anyone in the class (because I made him do them at home to work on his reading). He loved having Speedy the turtle in his classroom so much that he volunteered to take him home for  the summer. Thus, Speedy spent the whole summer as Davis's roommate much to both his and Lila's delight!
Some neighbors hosted a really cute last day of school party. Face painting, cotton candy, hair glitter, balloon animals, etc. It was a fun way to celebrate!

These kids spent a lot of time hanging at Chase's baseball games. Somehow I have pictures of the spectators, and not the actual player!
Just mornings with Speedy! It spent a lot of time googling "can box turtles eat...."

Then we opened the Pool!

On Memorial Day we took a little hike up Baer Canyon, which was beautiful! We hung out by the river for a good long while and just enjoyed the beauty that is only a few minutes from our house.

This was the cutest, I walked in to see Lila playing dentist! I love the attention to detail she put here, completely recreating her experience at the dentists office!

Summer BBQ and swim nights with cousins!

And...maybe the biggest news- Hudson decided to cut his hair! After two years of growing it out (with some small trims) he decided long hair was too hot and cumbersome and was ready to experiment with something new!
Chase got invited to football camp with the Davis high team, and somehow the picture I got of this special occasion was Davis wearing his helmet!
